"The roof on my house was seriously damaged after a bad storm on March 1st. I have never filed a claim so I was very unfamiliar with the process. I did what I was told to do when I called state farm to let them know a large portion of my house was roof free. I was given a number to call to have my house tarped. Afterwards an adjuster, Sierra Harrison, was assigned to my case. It took her two months to even look at my case. Once she did, she decided she was only going to cover one slope of my roof. When I asked which slope, she let me know I only had four slopes and she was willing to cover one of them. I assured her that she was looking at the wrong house. She insisted, very rudely, that she wasn't. I couldn't get her to budge. She also insisted that my deductible was $4000. She decided the replacement cost for my roof was $305. From there I had the roofing company, Midian Roofing, contact her. It took them an hour and a half to get it through her thick skull that my roof has eight slopes, not four. Midian Roofing managed to get Sierra Harrison to cover three slopes of my eight slopes. I contacted my agent, Melissa Shepherd. She had no interest in listening to me and immediately sided with Sierra Harrison. She even called me to inform me that she was no longer going to discuss my roof free home. Needless to say I had to hire my own adjuster. It is now mid July and the battle is not over. If I could give zero stars I would because I am basically uninsured."
